The project is the launch of KB’s Fairprice Value Stores (KBFVS), a no-frills, deep discount format, sometime in August that will focus on local catchment areas and service the daily requirements of consumers. "RPG to launch 365 stores in 1 year"
RPG Group, which owns the Spencer's brand of retail stores, will invest Rs 1,000 crore (Rs 10 billion) for opening nearly 365 supermarkets in the next one year. Ruling out any tie-up with global retail chains, RPG Enterprises chairman, Harsh Goenka said the group had the necessary wherewithal to conduct the business on its own.

"Tata to set up 40 `Croma` retail stores"
Tata Sons promoted retailer of consumer electronics Infiniti Retail Limited said it is targeting a 40-store network by 2008 and will invest more than Rs 120 crore for the purpose.
"We are planning to have around 40 'Croma' stores by 2008, and each store would cost more than Rs 3 crore," CEO and managing director Infiniti Retail Limited Ajit Joshi said.
