One should go to town "kumbhar galli" on anant chaturdashi to see what tilak has done.
massive crowd, massive is not the word. full of energy, with just one religion (call it mumbaikar) ... all shouting "Ganapati Bappa Morya, poodhcya varshi lavkar ya".
He was a pakka punekar too :-)
But yes he was truly a 'tilak' of Indias freedom struggle
