The organisers of city’s most famous Ganapati — Lalbaugcha Raja —will spend about Rs 3 crore during the 10-day festival.
The organisers, however, are not bothered about the expenses, as they earn three times the total amount spent.
With approximately two crore devotees expected to offer prayers, organisers have planned special arrangements, for which Rs 65 lakh will be spent.

I am not sure if lord Ganesha will be too pleased, looking at this sheer waste of money?? It could have been put to some better use.

At least it seems to be a legit 'business'. Not shady hawala type.
Generates employment for artisans, transporters, caterers, security wallahs.
Local businesses put banner adverts.
People visit the stalls and give donations (part of which goes to charities) and think they have done their religious duty. Young children get to see large murtis and decorations.
Let it happen... so long as there is no force involved.
