A day after Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray opposed calls to limit the height of Ganesh idols and slammed contentions that immersion of large idols in the sea caused pollution, Mayor Shubha Raul, a strong supporter of the “eco-friendly” idea, on Monday agreed with her leader.
“Ganesh idols is a sensitive issue and we cannot expect the mandals to follow our diktat. Uddhavji is right and we will try these restrictions next year,” she said.
