For a month after his 20-year-old son Derrick died, Mohan Jadhav refused to leave his room. Then a small eco-friendly Ganesh idol that Derrick had made and that was sitting by Mohan’s bedside table made him sit up with a plan churning in his head.
Forgetting his depression completely, Mohan dived headlong into a project to make his son’s dream of eco-friendly Ganesh idols a reality.

Now this is a real and definite issue.Instead of running after worthless film actors can somebody take this up.

Perfectly put
It will be a sweet irony if all common people follow Mohan Jadhavs example and switch to eco-friendly Ganpatis on their own without having to be forced to do so by any law or leaders
Bal Tilak had started Ganeshotsav celebrations to bring the community together. It's the communities turn to bring the politicians together... at least on the eco (logy and nomy) fronts...

First sarvajanic ganeshostav was organized by "Shrimant Bhausaheb rangare" in pune after bal gangadhar tilar asked people to host sarvajnic ganapati for conducting prabodhan and campaign against british government.
This idol was made up of paper. I am not sure if paper is more eco friendly, but i guess it is definately more eco-friendly then POP.
