In a shocking revelation, it was found that out of 1.25 lakh teachers for classes 1 to 7 across the state, only 10 per cent could answer all the questions in the English and Maths exercise books.
Interestingly, the teachers were given the same exercise books that they normally correct after the students solve them.
While it is known that many students of class 7 cannot not read and write properly, the shortcoming on the side of the teachers has perhaps exposed to some extent the origin of the problem.
