Alarmed by the soaring drop-out rate among the girl students in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools - every year a whopping 12,000 of them opt out of studies - the civic body has decided to give every girl child Re 1 for each day of their attendance. The scheme will be launched from April 1 for the 1177 BMC-run schools in Mumbai.
The BMC is already providing school dresses, mid-day meals and school bags to students in its schools.

Along with school dress, meals, school bag and now a rupee they need to also provide teachers to teach.
Is Rs 1/day enough for BEST tickets
thought is good but execution should be more planned
max dropouts happen in secondary school as per BMC records
incentives should be worked accordingly
