Following are salient steps for Marathi folks who are (fortunately a many are still today) in high office to learn from other's especially (Madrasis and Bengali's) to promote the rise of Maharashtrians in Corporate wrold.
1. Appoint few good HR folks at various levels from our community.
2. Give them indirect hints to surf/search/shortlist/headhunt good Marathi folks from job sites/contacts/ colleges/institutes and get them on board.
3. Appoint to extent possible all marathis to key positions in your company.(Off course on merit alone). If you find someone semimeritorious spend time, mentor them to the desired goals like how madrasis do.
4. Showcase all marathi executives who are bright at important seminars and sponsor them to write articles, come on magazine covers and become big in their field like say sales, finance, production, process, HR etc.. and get that feel good factor inside your company which means create a marathi culture in the corporate world where magazines like business india, today, world, are full of articles on small success stories or turnarounds achieved by these folks.
5. Thus we increase the chances of our folks getting selected over madrasis and benaglis in at least companies run by capitalist communities like parsis, gujju's, punajb i's and sindhi's.
6. I would go a step further and say that we must plan to have at least 50% reperesntation in fortune 500 companies CXO list (Fortune 500 india) by 2015.
7. In case you dont get marathi candidate for a post even after all search, if you take a non marathi never make the mistake of getting them into any key roles or get succumbed by their sweet talk to promote them. Just use them, like how marwari seths use the madarsis to create a facade of professionalism within and yet the decisons are taken by the marwari only.
these are some of the ideas i am sharing which i feel would ensure that as a community which ruled so called 2/3rd of India (But no one now acepts this) and gave to INDIA the likes of tendulkars, mageshkars, madhuris and gavaskars .. are not treated as just another fringe community with a few sparks of brilliance but a organised community which creates the kind of brand like what Gujju's have in business and Madrasis have in corporate world today.

the last para is chest-beating and chest-puffing. Ask any people in the world, any corner, and they can all talk like that :)
But apart from that, the rest of the post has very good suggestions.
