In a decision that would appear to flatter the MNS and Shiv Sena that have been agitating against North Indians in Mumbai, the Congress-NCP led Democratic Front government on Monday said it intends stricter implementation of policies that give preference to locals for jobs framed since 1968.
The government announced its decision to come up with state and district level committees for implementation of preference for locals in jobs, a move that political observers here see as a pre-election exercise to woo back the Marathi voters who might be drifting to MNS.
The earlier government resolutions (GR) that would be implemented strictly were issued by Congress governments in 1968, 1970, 1973, 2005 and 2007.

This is why I think Raj doesnt have the brains or vision. Not that anybody else has.
Wasn't there anybody in any political party who knew such a rule existed?
Instead of agitation, Raj could have asked for the implementation of this rule, or gone to court for implementation of this rule.
If you have an existing rule and politicians don't know about it, or ignore it, they are worse than idiots.
All this trouble could have been avoided.

Just a political stunt by congress to steal the show from RAJ. If they would have been serious from the begining then this situation wouldn't have been arived.
And what about those jobs whose base location is Maharashtra but advertised in Bihar and people from Bihar are getting recruited and are systematically migrated?

It seems Chanakya don't read Newspapers. The issue was of Railway Jobs, and not Maharashtra State Govt. Jobs.
As far as the posts that are filled by Central Govt. are concerned, there are very few people from Maharashtra. Now don't go into the argument of Maharashtrian don't appear for the Central govt. exams.... you'll find the answer somewhere in older threads for it.

If that GR was passed in 1968, why wasn't it implemented properly yet. Please Note that it is GR and not a law. So, it cannot be forced on companies for implementation.
with this background, how can somebody believe the decisions taken by congress government? because nothing has happened since 1968 in favor of this GR.
What Raj wanted is a Law. And i think without all those things happened a month ago, government would not have waken up and repeat the GR that was passed in 1968!
Still it is a GR and not a LAW. So nobody should trust it.

This is a stupid law. reservation can only happen in Sate Govt jobs not in Private jobs. Why should private companies be forced to have reservations for locals or whatever. If sucha thing happens, private companies will move to other places.

Once started getting recruited, Maharashtrians can take over the skilled workers field. And it has been proved in the Peak time of textile mills two decades ago.

meemarathi , how is my asking separate vidarbha not very different from your posturing over hatred against so called outsiders and regionlism . You are better than me in that respect. You think some indians cant stay in Mharahstra, and I think some Marathis shouldnt stay in Vidarbha.

I never said that separate Vidarbha should be created. I never said that somebody should not stay in Maharashtra. It's you, who are feeling insecure without any reason and making some virtual statements on other's name... The Whole discussion is about SEZ.
If you "Think" that Marathis shouldn't stay in Vidarbha, Then who are you? Aren't you Marathi? Whatever you think, is your choice. Neither we have any concerns over it, nor we feel insecure.

prashu... I think you should ask railways to send personal notes in marathi to all maharashtrians for jobs. Is that you want!!!.
You think railways ads are given in all punjabi, all vernacular, bihari, bhojpuri newspapers!!!
Anybody looking for job, should read employment news, and see the ads there.
And next time onwards, this portal should do that...and since MNS and Shiv sena and narayan ranne are so much lovers of marathi manoos, they should run ads in thier newspapers like Samana , Prahar etc.... Stop cribbing...about nonsense. Some guys have made a big issue of a thing which could easily be fixed.

No Railway ads are being published on internet. If they are, give me a link, i'll forward it to concerned people.
Finally, It is railway's responsibility to publish / circulate ads in adequate marathi newspapers ? After all Railway is not being run by SS or MNS, it is being run by RJD.

Do not forget we have adopted languistic state policy. So it is not whether I or u like it or not but one has to respect regional languages.
I have never said Railway should give any personal invitation. I guess u r putting those words which I have never said but U want to hear from me so that u can go on commenting.
