The passenger lobby of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) station is all set to sport a monument in memory of the 26/11 victims. Central Railway’s new general manager BB Modgil insisted that the monument should be built there. It will be dedicated to the public on January 30.
January 30 is Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary and is also observed as Martyr’s day. On the night of 26/11, 56 people had died at CST when two terrorists, Ajmal Qasab and Abu Ismail, stormed into the station with AK-47 guns and hand grenades.
