A 42-year-old medical salesman was sentenced to seven days’ simple imprisonment by a railway court in Virar for crossing the railway tracks at Vasai.

Prakash Pathak becomes the first person to be imprisoned for a period as long as a week by Western Railway even though the law permits a trespasser to be imprisoned for up to six months.
