Maharana Pratapaancha Rajvansh- A Marathi Book -Published in Feb 08 ( 2nd Edition in Aug 09 )done a good job of providing authentic history and of clearing, baseless assumptins about Akbar and Maharana Pratap.Commendable job praised by history-lovers. A must be read for tourists to rajasthan.Covers span of 1000 years , starting from Bappa Raval to Rana Bhimsing (1818) till surrender to British rule. One would have never heard about the Khumman 2nd , who was honoured by Colnel James Todd as the Ceasor of India and Maharana Kumbh the great who crushed the sultans of Malva and Gujrat and Delhi.How Maharana Rajsingh , the contemporary of Shivaji Maharaj , who forced Aurangjeb to drop weapons and walk with head down.One would be surprised to know what these sisodia kings have contributed in protecting the Hindu relegion from the fierce buldozer of Islamic Rule. The book has also braught in light the history of Rathods such as Veer Durgadas , Maharaja Jaswant Singh , Maharaja AjitSingh and Hada Rajputs the toughest among all rajputs. The role of villains played by Scindias of Gwaliar and Holkars of Indore in looting the wealth of Rajput States and thereby blemished the name of Maharashtra in Rajasthan.This was one of the main reasons for none of the Rajput kings helped Maratha army in the battle of Panipat. Its a really wonderful history!!
