Maharashtra has very good network of railways,which is not only economical but comfortable and ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY,
yet I hardly find Maharashtrians who travel in Maharashtra,
they travel all over,but hardly know their own state,just speaking in marathi is not enough,we must spend some cash for our own people,
If you travel by railway with circular ticket for sleeper
CSTM-RATNAGIRI-KUDAL-MADGAON.MIRAJ-KOLHAPUR-PUNE-SOLAPUR-HYDERABAD-CHANDRAPUR-GONDIA-NAGPUR-SHEGAON-JALGAON-MANMAD-NASHIK MUMBAI will cost you just Rs. 900/- ticket is valid for 25 days,travelling in the night you save on hotels,very ideal for students as if they travel for study tour railway gives 50% OFF,
travel by rail is not only cheaper but safe where all care is taken by railways,
Those who wish to travel without sleeper,could buy m/ex circular ticket at cost 450/- with the same time span,this will also empower you to know that only CASH RICH can not be tourists,you can also join the band.
To obtain circular you will have to apply to Chief booking officer,at CSTM OR AT BCT.10 days in advance.

SOOR PAARAM DYAA is the old game played by village kids in MAHARASHTRA,ask your elders they will tell you.
Our problem is while accepting the world,we are leaving our own HERITAGE.
Kiran,you may no belive but,MARATHIS have spent more on non working tourism than any other state,
But earnings by MAHARASHTRA ON TOURISM a/c is not even 10%
of that we have given to the world.
I have made it a point to spend 10% of my spendings on tourism towards COMMUNITY SUPPORT TOURISM in rural Maharashtra.
I do not use any big compnies like,Kesari,Sachin,Prasanna as they do not have in bound tours ,in TOURISM import is more important,but staying in MAHARASHTRA they fail to be loyal to MAHARASHTRA,
Can MNS will use some spray on them.

Thanx for feedb..........At the same time I would like to suggest the readers not staying in Bombay,coul ask the CBSR'S of stations listed in write up.
Railway will calculate the total KM's AND SPLIT IN TO TWO AND EXTEND telescopic fare(long you travel less you pay.)
This format cut's down the cost by30%,which could be used for ROAD LINKS.Circular tcket holders are allowed to use UPPER CLASS waiting rooms,+this ticket INNER MAHARASHTRA PLAN takes you through,Goa,Karnataka,Andhra Pradesh,so you could have BONUS,which you do not get while travelling by MSRTC,.

Rules for circular ticket,
8 official break journey stops,
stops for changing trains or less than 24 hours are not treated as stops.
Travel is allowed in one direction only,
but in case of giving up your travel,STATION MANAGER will allow you to do so
At each B/J, stopover do not forget to take station seal from Head TC,same is to be done while resuming your journey.
to plan your B/J,please check the places that you could visit by road.
I.E.from solapur you can visit Akkalkot,Naldurg,Tuljapur,Pandharpur,Bijapur,and the total bus charge may be around,Rs.250/-and could take 2/3 days
B/J is for 2 days,without calculation of day of reaching and leaving,
in any case validity date is on ticket so you have no problems.
So have HAPPY JOURNEY.
In last mansoon, I have travelled once to goa by konkan railway, and that was one of my best experience.
Yes you are very correct soorpaarambyaa (its very difficult to spell you name while i type :)), there are only three kinds of maharashrians.
1. who travel only travel to office on weekdays and watch ipl on sundays seating home.
2. who travel to their native place in summers by car (hired vehicle)
3. then there are business travellers to travel to europe and us.
But as you said nobody goes to interior of mahrashtra for vacation or journey.
