Indian media has time and again supported terrorist on Human Right Violation grounds specially NDTV and IBN kind of TV Channels constantly barraged on the government, judiciary and law enforcement agencies until 26/11 tragedy takes place. These channels were furious on action taken against Terrorist like Afzal Guru, Indian Muzahideen, Kashmir Militants… in their HOT DEBATES….and WE THE PEOPLE programmes.
First these TV channels should introspect themselves and apologies to the nation for the irrecoverable damage they caused to the country by raising Human Rights of Terrorist in the past resulted in loss of public confidence in Government and Government Confidence in law enforcement machinery further loss of Government faith in people whether to supports Terrorist or Human Rights.
Now, same people with bunch of so called rich and famous armchair socialite, who never dare to stand elections and democratic process only barking on these televisions for government inaction.
Why they are not wiling to taking part in the elections and come forward to change the system like US President Elect Mr. Barak Obama who is social reformer first then he become politician.
But our those armchair journalists and socialites don’t have courage to follow him and change the society because they are not credible people and are only opportunist who takes advantage of situation to make allegation on the government for which they themselves are guilty.
Agreed, 'Enough is Enough,' but not only for politicians but also for all those armchair journalists who sit in their studios and don't even do their jobs properly.
Don't you think it is high time we tell them: 'Enough is Enough' of your senseless programmes?

Hmm one point -- do you realise that Barack Obama is more supportive of human rights than Bush?
The human rights issue is very complex, and TV channels don't explain the full issue.
Take the US example.
1.
They now know conclusively that torturing terrorists gives them less reliable information than using scientific interrogation techniques. Under torture, terrorists will say anything - lies, truths... and actionable info is difficult o figure out. Interrogators themselves say so.
2.
Say someone is arrested. When he is arrested, police thinks that he is likely a terrorist. He probably is. We torture him. Finally it turns out that whether he is a terrorist or not, we don't have proof. He is allowed to go free. What are the consequences?
If he was a terrorist but we tortured him and could not get evidence to convict him, when he comes out, his family and friends believe he was caught illegally. They are likely to become terrorist sympathisers.
If he was not a terrorist, we torture him and finally he comes out after 6 months or one year. He is now a very angry man, and is quite likely to become a terrorist supporter. He will tell his story to 100s of people, and some of them will become terrorist supporters.
None of this is a simple question with simple answers.
The solution really is to make our investigation so scientific that we catch the right guys, and we learn how to collect good evidence. So when we catch someone, he really is a terrorist and we know he is a terrorist.
About Media.
Yes, it was very irresponsible. But it happened because both our media and government do not have any experience with things like this. Next time, they would know and make sure media doesn't do this.
Yes, this is naivety born of greed. It will stop soon, I think.
But even there, we can see another angle. Take a look at the coverage of Nariman House. There, the siege and counterattack lasted for 3 days, right?
Lets look at it this way. Either there are hostages inside and some have been killed, or everyone has been killed. If everyone has been killed, commando operation was not needed - they could just wait outside and catch them all alive slowly taking all the time they want. Gas them, use stun grenades or whatever, right? Then we would have got 2 terrorists alive.
Now imagine there were hostages inside. So now the priority is to save the hostages, right? From what I know of anti-terrorism operations with hostages, in every instance, there are only 2 options. Negotiate to get them free, or conduct a massive surprise attack while distracting them. At Nariman House, both did not happen. The attack was slow (and so the terrorists killed the hostages during the attack) and there were no negotiations.
We know this because the media was showing it, right?
So media's irresponsible coverage has actually shown us there was some tactical mistake on the part of our operation.
Such is life....

Very much impressive & thought provoking. But making our investigation agency upto date is the main challenge. I doubt that they r using latest technology to trace down the crimes.

And we are having one example of such thing, I don't remember name of that doctor from Hydrabad who had been detained by Australia under terrorist charges and then he came out clean....
Overall such investigation seems to be a very much sensitive things to do. Without much damamge they need to nail down the real culprit. Here system like Social Security No. will help I guess, where all u r details will get interlinked and Agency will get those details as & when required which will cut down primary invetsigation time and hence innocent citizens will not get unnecessarily caught up.
But Implementation of such system is a vey much mammoth task and requires a strong political will. Again in our country where u get ration cards and domicile certificates just in 15 days. It seems to be highly difficult.

We failed. The fact of matter is that guys, recent terrorist attack on Mumbai have shown us in bad light. 10 guys armed with Ak-47 and grenades kileld 200 people, took us hostage for 60 hours.
Fact is that our intelligence has failed miserbaly. Has Indian navi heard of an instrument called RADAR to track enemny vessels!! Radar was invented during WW2.
We say NSG is out elite unit but they are nothing as comapred to SAS (british crack unit). NSG commandos were brave but thier instruments were not. They didnt have maps of hotels, they couldn't operate properly at night and they took just too much time to kill 4 terrorists in Taj. These are tough questions. No doubt operationw as tough in such a big huge building, but many security experts have raised questions about why NSG didnt use different tactics.
Has anybody seen the helicopters used in operation initially?? They were like helicopters we used to see in 1980 bollywood movies where villain like Pran and Ajit would use in climax. Helmets worn by many commandos were like WW2 helmets.
And worse, NSG was brought in a red colored BEST bus. what the fuck!!
On top of that our beloved and humble and nicely dressed ex-Home minister Mr Shivraj patil announced on TV that 60 NSG and 100 other commandos are being flow to Mumbai. Now why would it be disclosed which commando unit was coming from where and when on national TV. Commandos operations succeed when they are done secrectively and swiftly. In this case both did not happen.
Lastly, I think , Mumbai police and police in India need to get fitter. Anybody with a tummy and belly should be removed from force or made to run every morning. But I see little hope. This morning, I saw a stun-gun carrying Policeman outside my office taking bribe from a stree vendor. So as long as we are corrupt from common man to netas, we have little hope.
