Take the Managing Board or key executives of any MNC or Large Indian Company today and you will find that mostly the top slots backed up by all key posts ,are occupied by South Indian's in most cases or by Bengali's in some cases. Iam not dwelling upon larger aspects like how Maharashtrains must compete with Gujju's and Marwari's or Punjabi's in Doing or starting business as thatwould take time and perhaps a generation of effort. However in the near forseeable future of 10-20 years if we have to stay as relevant and not get marginalised in any sector at least lets unite to prosper in a trade which we know equally well like South Indians and Bengali's which is 'Professional jobs or Service".
Hence invite views on strengthening this bond and what other communities groom folks from their clan to be the next in command and our folks dont do it and get carried away by so called merit of the South indians or Bengali's. Iam not trying to take away the merits of the folks of these communities or their ability to migrate and take up jobs in other locations as compared to Marathi's who want to stick to whatever is available in Mumbai and Pune even if it means serving under the Tamil Brahmin or Keralite management or Bengali lobby. Except for a few companies in pune , this article would find emapthy from most marathi folks who work in so called MNC or Large organistaions where proper caste politics is practised under the guise of professionalism/meritocracy, in employing at all stragtegic levels only people from their language and caste. I think Marathi's must also do that rather than fight on streets to prove that we are 'Mard Marathi" like Raj and the sena's who are only using these to get votes. there would be folks who would point to the lokadhikar samitis and other things which are good things done by Sena etc.. but this article is for corporate professional service people i.e. Middle and TOP management positions . Hence you take the CEO/CFO/COO/ CIO/CAO/HRO/etc.. of any large MNC company today and invariably the order of power sharing and the groups which rule the company are
1. Tamil Brahmin/ Delhi wala Punjabi.( Not sardars)
2. Delhi wala Punjabi./ Tamil Brahmin
3. Keralite/Marwari
4. Bengali
5. Other South Indians
6. Marathi / Other Indian communities./Christians.
7. North east and Muslims.
Marwari's would occupy No 1 slot in decision making in Marwari group companies even if a madrrasi would be taken as a Sr VP for his ability to say ' Yes Sirrr".
Amongst all communities it is the Punjabi community which is a bit more cosmopolitan and dont really block chances of Marathi's if they are good. These are my individual views and am not saying that we are not paraochial as a community or less united when it comes to Marathi Manoos however lets do it intelligently to make this chnage happen on the corporate sector which at least i feel can be driven by professional brilliance and does not require capital etc..which marathis usually complain (Though there is proof that ideas drive capital as well).

Really good analysis sandesh. Would like to add couple of points here.
1. Maharashtrian who manage to reach the top slot do create a good community clout in most of the cases. One of the examples is banks (i mean sbi, bom etc .. don't count icici and hsbc's)
2. There are significant no of mahrashtrians who upon reaching higher in the heirarchy, go abroad and settle their permanently.
3. One of the richest organization where there is total control of mahrashtrians is BMC and mantralay. But they all work for their own families. So we have a big problem here again.
