Residents between Borivali and Virar who were downcast on hearing that only passenger trains will be plied on the new tracks between the two stations, now have reasons to cheer. The Western Railway plans to run more than 15 trains on the sector this month itself. In fact, even the inaugural date that was fixed as July 7 is likely to be shifted. Says Bhagwat Dahisarkar, Senior PRO, Western Railway, “We have to wait for the report from the CRS (commissioner for railway safety) that is currently inspecting the route.”

Good news for Borivali to Virar peoples. But passengers from Borivali has to catch the train from Platform no 2,3,7,8.
No problem about 2 & 3, but 7 is away from station and 8 almost half way to Kandivali.

Yes it's really very irritating when train comes on platform no. 7 and 8. It feels like we have got down at Charkop, which is located between Borivali & Kandivali :(

May be central railway do not need additional track. They can actually work on improving efficiency and frequency of trains apart from reliability of service; normally and specially in rains.

Agreed, more track means longer route for people who wants cross tracks, this means more risk in getting killed by train.
On the lighter side, it will also be difficult for psychic people who wants make suicide, more tracks means more options to select track, so more confusion to decide.
