Mr. Moderator – I wish your question was - Which party HAS actually done something good for the state instead of 'Can ACTUALLY do'? After all, future selection is based on Past Performance more than Empty Promises.
If mns or ss are so aggressive, dedicated, and patriotic why the EFF can't they terrorize terrorist outfits out of the country for good? Are they only dedicated and committed to blow off their own state....burning down shops, taxis? For crying out loud, are they protecting the culture by doing 'tod fod' if someone puts keechad on a statue? Valentine’s day pe 'maar peet' because people are celebrating love and compassion so our culture is in danger? A reliable bunch of saints – so anytime you want the city shut down, count on them to deliver.
SS commenting on the death of the 55 yr old killed in Nasik – Gaining political mileage using a tragic incident.. UGH!
I wish people would vote for the RIGHT candidate, regardless of cast, community, language.

Mr. Ashutosh, your proposed question -- Which Party has done good .. is actually a sarcastic expression, so i can understand. Anyways survey reflects the non-agreement with their style. (No violence).
To be accurate, there is no "tod fod" for culture this time, Raj thackrey don't have issues with valentine's day because SS is already using that issue. MNS has taken up "marathi manus" concern because SS is pretty loose on it, busy remodelling themselves to compete at national level.
Everybody have their own reasons and blame games, but while all this is happening, parties still grow, we vote, we pay tax, we suffer for paying tax, new flyovers get constructed, one lack cars come on the road and lot more and we are very much a part of all this. Bottomline - we cannot escape this survey (at least in our mind).
There are mumbaikars who support raj thackrey's concern but don't agree with his implementation. And there are people who go down the street and give gali's to panwala where they are smoking for last 10 years, but can never understand the problem.
And then there are people like you and me, who just watch and debate, and then vote the right candidate who never see the light at the end of the tunnel. I pity us.
People would want to vote the right candidate, but what if there are no right candidates around. They will vote for candidate from their community, cast and language and all that. We all will do the same.
I remember, manishbhau's comment few weeks ago on bharatratna issue, while there were debates happening over who should be awarded bharat ratna and indian of the year, baba aamte passed away. he was probably the last person in our times who was true social worker throughout his life. And the news didn't even survive for two days in the paper. This is the reality. There are no right candidates now, but that doesn't mean we don't pay taxes :(.

I have one doubt - is the survey results reflective of what Maharashtrians actually think? In other words, does katta and maharashtra think alike?

This is an important enough issue for a lot of maharashtrians but it is even more so for our no-good politicians, who are the main cause of both the problem and the violence. They politicise even community events like chatt pooja to incite their opponents to indulge in unjustified acts of violence.
The marathi culture of Mumbai is slowly losing its strength and can be preserved, to an extent, if marathi movies, by improving their quality, become popular like bollywood movies.
The common people of cosmopolitan Mumbai, all of whom are equally hardworking, feel that there is no party or politician who really represents Maharashtrian interests and can actually do something good for the state.
They don't want their job-creating private company owners, majority of whom are non-maharashtrian and don't necessarily speak marathi, to differentiate on any basis except merit for the job.
Though the image of the Marathi manoos has been tarnished somewhat there is no bad publicity among MNC's. So jobs will continue to get created in Mumbai and there will be no solution to the problems of migrants unless there is a change in the law.
