NMMC started this Rs. 111 crore project in 2006, due to increasing number of accidents on the road from airoli to turbhe. But then road already started showing up the cracks and NMMC officers are on the defensive mode. This sounds like regular BMC story.
The road is used by people who commute to their work places and colleges which is largely in Mahape, Kopar Khairne and the Millenium Park, off the Thane-Belapur road. The road is also used by the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses which ply to Pune, Alibuag and Panvel.

Similar was the case with the 1st skyscraper of mumbai. It did not developed crakes but it was fully stained with filthy paan and gutkha stains and that also before the inauguration ceremony.
one more case was when Dombivli foot-over-bridge (FOB) collapse case.
