Past few days were like an unending nightmare which has finally come to end as of now. After the longest terror night mare that Mumbai had experienced which lasted for 59 hours Mumbai is back to normal. Crowded CST station, crowded local trains, crowded buses and people heading towards their offices. Every thing right in it place as if whatever I was watching over a television for last 3 days was a night mare and not a reality.
It has been the most traumatic experience so far which has left us surprised, shocked, angry, silent at one end and on other end feeling of pride having fought the terrorists.
At one end we have thousands of questions that demands answers from our shameless, irresponsible government, on another end we are proud of our Commandos from NSG, The Indian Army, The Indian Navy, Mumbai Police and The Mumbai Fire Brigade who fought our battles for us.
At the same time there is feeling of disturbed loss of 16 policemen including ATS Chief Hemant karkare, DIG Ashok Kamte, Encounter Specialist Vijay Salaskar ,NSG Havaldar Gajinder Singh and Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and hundreds of innocent people who died in Mumbai terror attacks. Life will never be same for their families.
Unlike our politicians who are still busy in playing blame games on each other and in act of running away from their responsibilities when they were needed to give answers to hundreds of question raised by the nation, NSG, Indian Army ,Indian Navy ,Mumbai Police and Mumbai fire brigade worked hand in hand like a team from the night it started till it all was brought to an end. Thanks to them.
We are proud to have great commandos like NSG,Marcos and Mumbai Police who were fighting room-to-room battles in the two hotels and Nariman house to rescue. Imagine fighting these terrorists hiding in different rooms in a hotel having more than 400 rooms without any layout of that place it was sheer guts to be in front line and fight with these cowards and knock them down.
Hats off to Mumbai Fire Brigade team who undertook the entire fire-fighting and rescue operation without getting into the building, evading terrorists' bullets without bullet-proof vests and bomb detectors. It was a difficult job of rescuing 500 people, considering the fighters could not even enter the hotel and they had just two bullet proof jackets for 200 firemen.
Security personnel and Fire Brigade were at constant war with the terrorists and after a tireless 2 day encounter, fire fighting and rescue.
MUMBAI SLAUTES U ALL. We are proud of you. We thank each one of you for being with us, helping us combating these 59 hours of terror. You are every Mumbaikar’s real Heros. And all those brave men who lost their lives while fighting for freedom of mumbaikars from the hand s of terror, you will always be alive in our hearts. JAI HIND!
