Even as inflation-driven rising prices are forcing citizens to cut down on groceries, some traders are aggravating the problem by hoarding commodities to create shortages and make a profit.

One such trader was arrested on Thursday for hoarding around 9,400 quintals (1 quintal = 100 kg) of mutter (peas), chana dal (chickpea) and chickpea flour worth Rs 2.84 crore in his Vasai mill.
