According to a Maharashtra Cabinet decision taken on Wednesday new taxi permits will be granted to only those people who have been residing in the state for 15 years.
The new rules also state that who applying for taxi permits must speak, read and write Marathi.

If you read newspapers, there are three flavours of these cabinet decisions being debated.
1. Taxi permits only to people residing over 15 years in maharashtra.
2. Taxi permits only to those who can speak in marathi.
3. Taxi permits only to marathi people
Now what will happen is maharashtrians will get the permit for taxi and keep a bhaiyyaji as a driver to it with a super cheap cost, which is always been a case.
It would be very nice of Mr. Chief Minister if he also tells his cabinet to think on "where to drive these new taxis in mumbai".
