The only megacity in the country assured of a daily supply of water may soon have to brace itself for piped water every other day.
“There has been practically no rain in the catchment areas and if the situation persists we will be forced to supply water only on alternate days,’’ said Anil Diggikar, additional municipal commissioner in charge of water supply. “We will watch the situation for another week and then curtail the supply,’’ he added.
