So here is something which he can try and do.
Demand that security in Mumbai should be totally fixed.
Say that VT, churchgate, every other station should be made secure.
Say that coastline should be totally protected.
Say that WHATEVER MONEY is needed for all that, the government BETTER find the money and fucking spend it. If it takes 10,000 crores, the indian goverment should find it and fix it.
Say that if its not done, Mumbai will stop. Raj will ask people not to travel to work, no planes will be allowed to take off. Vidhan Sabha will be surrounded. Say that everyone who loves Mumbai should help him in this.
Complete freeze.
If he has the guts, let him say this. If he says it, Vilasrao will shit in his pants, RR Patil will cry for his mother, and Manmohan will run on Delhi streets without clothes.

I guess in addition to HRA, Conveyance, LTA etc there should be provision made for Anti terrorism allowance in all our salaries..

Mumbai needs as well India nees exemplary measure to fight the menace of terrorism. But I wont trust Mr thackery. In fact his entire clan of Thackerays.
Thackerays are double speaking snakes. We have already seen how Shiv Sena had targetted ATS and Karkare in particular. Raj Thackeray on the other had as Vir Singhavi said in Hindustan time appeared more like "Marathi mouse" than marathi manoos. Raj Thackeray will only divide the country to get votes. In fact MNS should be burried once and for all. We need a national resurgence.
Maharahstra can certianly have better leaders then these bunch of jokers and losers.
Well I am not surprised by Vir Singhavi's statement as everybody knows that he is from hinglish media which is hates marathi & maharashtrians than Pakistan itself. And feel pitty about those who think whatever vir singhavi says is correct and follow those as gods commandmends. I am normally against Raj Thackeray - but I am normally against Congress and BJP and Sena too. I dont trust any of them.

Raj talks the language of toughness. Like Sena. So, I want to see if they can do some serious action instead of some small things here and there.
Raj is young. I agree that he has attitude. A step by step action plan is what a young politician can do. Old-style politicans dont even understand what planning is.
I have always believed Sena and MNS set small targets. I am therefore giving them something big to do.

I think threatening to shut down Mumbai if full action plan is not put into action - that is a good threat. And it will work.

But this can happen tomorrow again. In VT definitely. This is the time to use the maximum possible power which people have and bring the Maharashtra and Central governments to their knees. Only total Mumbai shutdown can do that. If you do that -- which MNS and Sena can -- every paisa we ask for will come. Every change in police equipment, numbers, security, infrastructure etc which is needed to secure the city can come.
All Raj has to say is, me and my people, plus Sena, and every other right-thinking person will stop the city. If the demands are not met. I mean, as for 50,000 crores and it will come. Ask for professionals, even anti terrorism experts from around the world, and it will come.
Or we can do our normal little bandhs and protests and candles and die like dogs again.

True, I guess core of our dicussion is to put pressure and make government to act to avoid such incidence. But tell me one thing making Mumbai standstill for one day or say for infinate till any solution should come will avoid all attacks in future?
Instead of that something constructive and tough action should be taken by centre government by which pakistan will think 1000 times before doing such thing, should be done on priority.
If afzal guru have been hanged in public and telecasted much before, could have sent tough signals to all over the world that India is not tolerating anything which plays with it's existance. But what we did? Isn't it boosting morals of those who wanna kill us? Can't we stop satlaj water supply to Pakistan? Can't we do combing operation and find out illegal bangladeshi and pakistanis and send them back or kill them?
But do we have these guts to do? By making mumbai standstill, we can ask government to create more security measures but this will not be a step towards solving the issue but will be a temporary solution. Security however tight it can be breached. Remember 9/11. Now here u can take SS/MNS help to find out those anti national element hiding through out state.
Remember when SS/BJP was in power they tried to send bangaldeshi back and u know what one MLA from W. Bengal did? When Maharashtra Police got down at Kolkatta station with bangladeshi's which they carried from Maharashtra to send them back, this MLA attacked them with his followers. So they came back leaving these bangladeshi's in kolkatta station.
Now also if u say a single word against them then all these Mulayam, Lalu, Shabana, Dilip, Javed will create MATAM like situation here. Just try it.....

There are two parts - 1) securing ourselves 2) dealing with pakistan. I was focusing on the first part.
With Pakistan, it is a very complicated issue. Lets take those points one by one.
1. Pakistan is not a solid country. The government - army - ISI - militants - al qaeda --- they are the different players there. So its very difficult to take action which does not boomerang.
2. Attacking Pakistan or even threatening them -- who feels the threat? the civiliian govt. they will be thrown out immediately and army comes to power. If we try to defeat the army, we end in nuclear war and everyone dies. So no govt will fight a war with Pak again.
3. afzal guru. of course. but in 2 days, we will forget about it. and the terrorists wont care anyway. they are used to deaths.
4. satlaj water - there is an international convention about sharing water. stopping it is considered war. if we do that, we may actually find ourselves fighting against every country in UN.
5. illegal bangadeshis etc. Yes of course.
I ask for a very aggressive step because nothing else will make any difference. And this is a matter of life and death unlike any other issue.

Show us your action plan. All these points should be included and all money needed should be given.
If you don't, we will shut down Mumbai till you agree.
Threaten to shut down Mumbai indefinitely. It wont be necessary in the end. Just the threat will work. If it doesn't, in 48 hours, the central government would obey.
The ideal way is to call a meeting, and ask all parties, all organisations, and all Mumbaikars to refuse to travel or work or open shops till the demands are met. No trains, no planes.
In 48 hours, Indian government will obey.

Good, we are actually now dicussing the issue. So far just wasting time to come to the issues. Anyways.
u r correct about those two ways. Internal security must be revamp completly.
1. U must have seen policemnt at raiway station just sitting on bench and just doing checking casually. No body expect them to check each and every person but still I guess must be done throughly
2.As Modi mentioned, there must be three-tire security for entire east-west costline with upto date equipments.
3. Social security no. like system should be created and interlinking of all records ( A very very mammoth task)
4. Entire police system needs to be revamp along with good paychecks to policemen.
I appeal to all readers to put more points into it.
Comming to external factor.
1. u r first & second point are correct but I guess whether it is democracy or Army rule, mentality of power in pakistan towards india is the same. (Anti India)
2. Direct war will be a suiside as whole world economy is going through a major bad phase these days . Also neuclear war issue is there.
3. It is not Afzal guru in person but the treatment which we generally gives to arrested terrorist should change and which should become tough. No politics of votes should be allowed. Here wanna make one thing clear that terrorist means terrorist. Don't devide them as hindu and muslim. Tommorow if sadhvi found guilty then she should be given same treatment as of afsal guru. This will send clear signals that India never favors hindus over muslims to those misguided youths from Pakistan who have been made to belive that Muslims are suffering badly in India. Here we can take help pf Shabana, Dilip, Tista kind of people. We should send them beyond borders to create awareness between those youths.
4. If Pakistan is not following any treaty why to unnecessary show Gandhian attitude. Lets breach everything.
