Sena district chiefs voice unanimously

A meeting of district chiefs of the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra yesterday unanimously voted to break off the 22-year-old ties with the BJP, party sources said.
“A meeting of all district level chiefs convened by Opposition Leader Ramdas Kadam was of the view that the alliance with the BJP was not worth continuing. A report of the meeting will be handed over to the party leadership,” the sources said.

The district chiefs felt it was unjustified on the part of the BJP to term Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s decision to support UPA-Left candidate Pratibha Patil in the Presidential poll as a “betrayal”.
Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray said he had not received the report, but admitted that such a meeting had taken place.
