Traders criticised Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's working style over Marathi signboards and said that it should not be forced.
"Making signboards in Marathi is mandatory as per the law but why compulsion over the font size," president of Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association, Viren Shah asked, while speaking at a press conference in Mumbai.
The association went to the Court because MNS was forcibly trying to change the signboards in Marathi and demanded the bigger fonts, he said. While the law says Marathi is compulsory, it does not specify about the font size, he added.
The traders are not against Marathi language or Maharashtra but MNS should learn to

It is not the question of Fonts, but are traders ashamed of doing Business in Maharashtra w/o being proud of putting up sign boards in Marathi. In fact Maharshtra Govt must give some Vat rebate for shops, establishments and hotels employing 50% of Marathi people in their staff.
