After 14 cumulative hours on the road, Raj Thackeray’s last stop on Tuesday was the police lock-up in Manpada in Kalyan. The leader of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, if police sources were to be believed, would not be accorded any special treatment.

Apparently, he will be spending the night in the only lock-up at the station. The cell does not have an air-conditioner — so cooling his heels will indeed be out of place here. The police source further said that he would be given chapati and vegetable subzi for dinner.
Thackeray is reportedly armed with a book written by Dr BR Ambedkar which also kept him company during his journeys, first from Ratnagiri to Mumbai and then from the Bandra court to Kalyan.

At 7.30 pm on Monday when Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray returned to the government guest house at Ratnagiri after a hectic tour he was looking forward to a quiet dinner with his partymen. Outside the guest house, a crowd of supporters was waiting to get a glimpse of their leader. An hour or two later, he got wind of the news of his likely arrest. Almost 150 policemen had encircled the guest house arresting the MNS activists from Konkan region as a preventive measure.
