Apart from the issues -- whats the point of violence when Raj is arrested? A court ordered his arrest, and then there is no option for the police other than to arrest him. If a Maharashtrian court orders Laloo's arrest, he would be arrested too.
He will be arrested, and he will be released. This is India, you think any politician will stay inside for long? Arrests are just a legal and political (!!) requirement - Raj has been arrested once before, this is the second, so it is just like passing second standard exam in school. Long way to go.
As far as the issues are concerned, when the problems of Maharashtrians are explained to non-Maharashtrians, they always agree in my experience. Maybe they wont agree about the cultural issues - but they always agree that yes, Maharashtrians are in a bad shape economically, and that has to be changed.
What is required is a plan. Beating up a few people is not a plan.
If that would be successful, terrorists' bombs would be even more successful!
It just helps people feel a bit macho. There is no point to it.
Also, whats the point of saying Maharasthra will burn?!! Say Bihar will burn, or I will make UP burn :-D
But beating this few UP biharies student will make any change in mumbai....This fight is going on since past many years that UP biharies should stop coming to mumbai.... Are they really stopping migration up to certain extent ?? Or just we all Marathi's are shouting and beating unnecessary...

I agree with you that beating few UP / Biharis is not going to bring the change. But lets look at other side. Laloo came to Mumbai some days before and they were approached by MNS with a request letter to consider the locals when recruitment is done in railways and laloo refused to accept the letter!!!
Do you think that a national leader should behave in this manner which is definitely in bad taste?? Atleast he would have accepted the letter and shown some courtesy (Mind it, It was a request letter and not a forced order).
Now other point what would you do when you catch a thief, obviously you'll beat up them, then I would say same has happened to the ones who have tried to steal our jobs. Why was there no advertisement regarding the recruitment in other states and only in UP/Bihar/West Bengal is this not a so called "PRANT-WAD"??
The eligibility for the recruitment was 50% or above at SSC level, don't we have talent at even these levels??
Now do you think that if MNS had approached to Railway Board in delhi and marked their protest there would have been some concrete results as all the north ppl consider Raj as only a Goonda ??
I would support Raj as this was the only way to mark the protest when other alternative of nonvoilence failed.

I agree with all that. But there is a simpler way which maintains our dignity. You just have to stop the exam. Gherao. Dont allow the exam to happen. It is a standard method of protest and it works. Beating up is unnecessary.
Laloo's behaviour is irresponsible and impolite for sure.
Or block trains. Not beat the travellers :D But block trains for a day. Railways will surely notice that!

I agree with Asthipanjar. There is no doubt that Raj has taken up the issue which was there in minds of most of the Maharashtrian people. But the problem is repercussions which have to be faced by Maharashtrian people living in other parts of the country. Moreover this kind of sporadic beatings is not going to deter these shameless Biharis and UPaites. I think Raj should change his strategy and fight this cause in a more organized and legal way.

guys I watched it yesterday on Zee 24 tas, they clearly shown andheri railway police station record saying that guy was killed in railway-accident and not by MNS. So this is showing cheap and dirty mentality of all anti-maharashtrians.
