When you formed the MNS, you said it would be an inclusive party, but it looks like a Shiv Sena copy.
I am doing whatever should be done for the betterment of Maharashtrians. I won’t let people from outside take away from them what is essentially theirs.
What happened to your promises about employment, safety of women, etc.?
I did a lot of things, but the media chose to ignore them. When I said something about North Indians, they started scrambling around.
Are your politics not parochial?
You never question the politics of Modi or Karunannidhi, but everybody is willing to typecast me as the villain.

Instead of questioning raj on northIndians why media never go and interview laloo, mayavati and other UP leaders and ask them as wht their state govt is doing for their own people betterment, law and order and safety in their states. Nobody questions them.
I donot support all his activities but I loved the way he had handled that signboard issue man. In couple of days I could see all boards in Marathi specially in Dombivali where MNS is gaining lot of popularity and public support.
And that jayabachan "Hum UP ke hai to Hindi mein bolenge."Only Dialogs If she really love UP so much why is she here when her state people are suffering due to recent floods.Film karna chod diya par acting nahi choot ti.

@funaholic, very genuine thought which can come only to maharashtrians only, "why are not UP leaders questioned"??.
Anyways,
Raj should had not left the interview like that, but he should face all the questions from media and provide them with a concrete proof of how locals are deliberately ignored in central government jobs. This is the only way to prove the authenticity of movement.
Mr.Thackeray we are with you always but at same time we look at you as a new generation leader who will face such interviews with full preparations.

Raj thackrey is right in blaming media that they are ignoring his real work for womens, childrens, youth employment and helping small businesses. They are writing about him only when he responds on quite irritating ocassions like this of Mrs. bacchan.
But this was always the case with english channels and newspapers, i don't feel they are treating mns differently. They have done same thing with shiv sena in the past.
May be MNS also should start their own paper.

@ funaholic and @tbankar
UP leaders are not questioned because the media and India has decided some 10-20 years back that they are so bad there is no point in bothering about them.
Raj is questioned because this is Mumbai, and they think his actions can ruin Mumbai. So it doesn't turn into a Bihar :D
We will see who is right in ten years.
My prediction is that unless Maharashtrians embrace cosmopolitan culture and use its opportunities (people like you, who are members of katta - you are the ones who did that), Maharashtrians will be on a downward slide.
@kiran
true. media will always try to cover the negatives of politicians. nothing new with MNS. they dont cover the negatives of UP leaders because their archives are full of negative coverage of north indian leaders, and there is nothing more to add :D

"UP leaders are not questioned..."
> not questioned by their own people maybe (which is the problem).. but they have been questioned by the people & leaders of other states (Maharashtra, South, Assam, Punjab, ...)
"Raj is questioned because this is Mumbai, and they think his actions can ruin Mumbai."
> who is 'they'.. same guys who dont care/think about questioning their state leaders ? If they are beyond caring for their own cities/states why should they bother so much about mumbai/maharashtra ?
"We will see who is right in ten years."
> you might not... because you seem to have not yet realised what is right and what is wrong. Wrong is when people expect only mumbai and maharashtra to be cosmopolitan and accomodating. right is when people all over the country demand and get from their leaders development better than mumbai and maharashtra.
My prediction is that unless Maharashtrians embrace cosmopolitan culture
> pray tell us what culture has mumbai been embracing all these decades? where have you been living until now ?? Can you tell us other cities in India which are cosmopolitan?

well @asthi I feel even raj is opposing bcoz he doesnot want Mumbai to turn into Bihar.
Its not about Maharashtrians embracing cosmopolitan culture its merely abt Mumbai. Its almost becoming a dumping ground. Why Mumbai shld pay price of sm irresponsible people who cannot manage their state.No-body is addressing this prob which is the main issue.
Those who come to mumbai and help this place to prosper make sense. But these people are only adding up to the crowd and other prob in mumbai.

are we discussing mumbai or north india? :-D If we are discussing the North, there is no end to it. Everyone knows whose fault it is there..
>>> they
by they, i meant the media. media has got tired of debating UP and bihar. in fact, when there is no agitation in mumbai, thats all media still discusses, about how screwed up they are. the states which are most criticised in india are those two.
> pray tell us what culture has mumbai been embracing all these decades? where have you been living until now ?? Can you tell us other cities in India which are cosmopolitan?
i am not talking about mumbai, i am talking about maharashtrians. I dont think maharashtrians have used the opportunities in Mumbai as much as others. I remember shiv sena guys saying "but our young people dont want third rate salesman jobs, they want government jobs." Almost every maharashtrian i know agrees when it is not said in public.
@ funaholic
raj's position has justification for sure - his REAL position. It is his actions that I think are bad.
Thackeray senior tried the same stunts. They dont lead to anything. Force leads to more force, and it becomes a habit. Ramesh Kini is a bad memory now for many people. In fact, Raj's own party wont touch a north indian businessman who gives them money.
funaholic, people come. you cant pick and choose who comes. When 5 taxi drivers are given a slap each, its the panju or UPite with 5 crores who decides to take the money somewhere else.
In one way you can see the difference already. Take IT. Where do you think jobs are easiest to get? It is already Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

your only convenient point seems to be that Northern states are screwed up and there is no end to it and we all know whose fault it is and since the blame is already decided nothing more needs to be done there.
we are discussing both mumbai AND india :-) how soon will it be before you realise that mumbai cannot forever remain an aberration from rest of india. mumbai was supposed to be a beacon of progress to the rest of india. instead it has become only a point of escape
i am sure you dont need to be reminded that mumbai is a part of the same India of which the northern, eastern, southern and western states are. you seem to have further trouble accepting that Mumbai still remains a part of maharashtra. so it cannot escape the problems of maharashtra. and maharashtra has as many problems as other states do.
if people in other states are suffering then it is because of the politicians there but if maharashtrians are suffering then it is because they didnt make use of the opportunities here
