A Cappella Performers from Yale University, with over 100 years experience all over the world, perfoming for the likes of Presidents Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Mother Theresa and The Dalai Lama.
Founded in 1909, the “Whiffs‿ began as a senior quintet that met for concerts at Mory’s Temple Bar, the renowned bar that dates back to 1849. Cole Porter, Yale Class of 1913, highlights the list of noteworthy Whiffenpoofs alumni, which also includes senator Prescott Bush, father of former President H. W. Bush.
During the early nineteen hundreds a coveted privilege for any member of the Yale Glee Club (Yale University) was to be chosen to sing in what was then known as the Varsity Quarter. This group was featured in every concert given by Yale Glee, Banjo and Mandolin Clubs. They later called themselves The “Whiffenpoofs‿.
Today the group is one of Yale’s most celebrated & hallowed traditions carrying on almost a century of musical excellence.
The Whiffenpoofs is a non-profit organization that supports children literacy & educates children about A cappella singing.
They maintain a performance of 200 concerts annually, in addition to recording and embarking on a 17 week world tour.
The performance will be followed by 'Lionnel Mascarenhas' who will perform his well received originals from the debut album WONDERLAND. Besides cover artists such as Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, Blur, Oasis, R.E.M, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maroon 5, Deep Blue Something, Duran Duran, Etc
