Commuters travelling on the Central Railways' suburban line will now have to wait less with authorities announcing 33 new services from October 2.
Of the new trains, 25 would be on the Harbour line and among them 12 would link the western suburb of Andheri with Panvel in neighbouring Raigad district, the last stop on the Harbour line, railway authorities said.
The other eight trains would be introduced between Thane and Vashi in Navi Mumbai.
Responding to protests on insufficient compartments reserved for women (since some were classified as general post 2100 hours), they said in all such compartments the time would be extended to 2300 hours.
