Fed up with the rising stray menace in the city, the BMC is now contemplating moving the apex court with an appeal on allowing killing of stray dogs in the city.
BMC chief Jairaj Phatak said the corporation was examining the possibility of challenging a high court ban on the killings. The BMC’s decision is largely based on the fact that killing of strays was allowed in advanced countries.

The move proposed is not for anyone's entertainment nor it is for benifit for individual.
No one would support to kill all the dogs from city, but there should be control on their population.
They can't be threated by AIDS or media, so in benifit of general public, BMC should be supported for this action.

Get rid of the dogs, either by sterilization or killing.
Let both sides come up with detailed plan and money to do it.
Whoever can convince a court that their plan is better should be allowed to do it.
Otherwise all this is just talk.
BMC basically dont have the capability to fix potholes - potholes dont run away, dogs do!
NGOs can only talk or sterilize dogs in one little area.
All equally useless.

Read this interesting take in a magazine....on an average stray dogs live for 6 years, humans average about 60 years. There are about 600 humans for one stray dog. And still it is a problem for the humans :-)

Production rate however do not match ;-)
People follow "Hum do hamara ek" for children, where as on average ratio is "Hum do(?) hamare 10(?)."
Question marks (?) are placed as they do not follow loyalty to one :) principal.
I thought average life for dogs was well above 10 years, link to magazine will be appreciated.
I agree that human should not have problems over existence of dog, but then why till limit that become menace?

Maybe we should get scientists to do research on genetic modification so that dogs produce only 2 offsprings in their lifetime ;-) And for Indians i think it is high time we followed Hum do, Humara ek !

i will definitely support BMC, NGO's will always oppose this type of action..... and if we continue to listen them then they might say don't kill rats in plague diseases and mosquitoes in dengue, malaria diseases

BMC wants to kill strays .. AND I want to kill BMC
Why dont BMC control population instead ? Stray dogs have no where to go !!
BMC can control population of dog, not sure what population is volcano talking about here.
BMC tried doing tht but it is very expensive and not effective
Obviously the DOG population :)
If BMC even tries to kill the dogs .. the other dogs (PETA) will start barking. So why dont we kill PETA
