After Batti Bandh now its churches from mumbai to work out ways to conserve energy and save the world (which is its prime objective anyways). But don't mistaken it with light cut offs in the church, i believe they use more candles then bulbs and tube lights. Pavwala will know better.
What churches will be proposing is enery audit for every institution, brainstorm various ways to save energy and also start implementing them. I believe its a very good move .. and it will definately see the light.

Perfect. I guess the word "SIN" is more scary than word "IILEGAL" for people.People abide to it more than to law.
Drink and driving is iilegal now tell them its sin might listen. I guess this will comes under Drug abuse.
Female infanticide -killing of baby girls is still shockingly very common in India.Its iilegal but still people do it. Even this should be added in "New Sin list".
The defination of paap and punya should keep changing with time.

why research is sin? I didn't get that.
Research is questioning belief and thats why its a sin according to church. So all scientist go to hell and all who score poor in maths and science go to heaven.
Basically only 2-3 points in the list are good rest dont make sense to me atleast.
