Raj Thackeray and all Maharashtrians living in Mumbai, who think that North Indians are outsiders, should hear this one from Suresh Kalse, the chairman of the Vesawa Koli Sahkari Society. Kalse says, “The Koli community is the native Mumbaikar. The “outsiders” who must leave Mumbai include Maharashtrians from other parts of the state. Ironically, those wanting the North Indians to leave the city are themselves not Mumbaikars.”

So have you packed your bag:)?
In my opinion, such verbal points are meaningless. These points are just points to be won in a verbal discussion. There is no sense to this.
The larger issue is the enmasse migration into Maharashtra, which whether you like it or not, is going to result in violence, turmoil and resentment. The Kolis, rather than trying to be over smart and obfuscate the issue by trying to score verbal points and idule in one upmanship-rather, it would be better if they admit that the real issue is enmasse, unchecked emigration into Mumbai, which MUmbai CANNOT absorb. Let us not have ANY illusions on this score-the enmasse migration into Maharashtra is GOING TO CAUSE massive problems of all kinds. Let us not have any illusions or pretend that people are going to be more nationalistic than the nationals, patriotic etc. The issue here is of unchecked migration, which has huge demographic implications-check out the delimitation commitee's report in this context. This unchecked migration is GOING to cause protest and anger-and maybe far worse than that as as well-even violence.
True mumbaikar: the issue is grave. Sweeping it under the carpet of nationalism, patriotism, constitutionalism etc is not going to work. Violence is to be expected-in one form or another. In the coming days, it may even get worse.
Kolis: the time has come for all Marathi-speaking people, cutting across all lines to be united. The unity of people speaking the same language is needed now more than ever. There was never such a time as now when Maharashtrians, of all castes, creeds, religions and classess need to be united firmly. Let the KOlis stop trying to indulge in cheap verbal one upmanship and instead come together and unite with Maharashtrians.

To bring home to you the real points which should be taken up and discussed; the real issues are the above questions. Hence, discuss these and don't evade the real questions by saying Maharashtrians are outsiders, we are all Indians etc.
Hence, to bring home the real issues-I am compelled to cut and paste.
