Lara Dutta
I have not always lived in Mumbai; I came here from Bangalore at a really young age to make a living and I have done well for myself. This city has given me a lot and I am grateful to it. There have been attempts to attack the social fabric of the city recently, but all I can say is that I have never noticed anything divisive here. When we work in a film, we never notice whether anyone is an ‘outsider’ or not. The crew on the sets has so many myriad shades. From South Indians to North Indians, to local Maharashtrians, we all work as one unit and that is why the results are great.
I would only like Mumbai to be slightly more open to other cultures and points of view. Mumbai is a tolerant city, but we should be more considerate.
Of course, the infrastructural problems are something else.
