So the Indian cricket team is in Ireland. Dravid said today that this is his last trip to England - the next trip is planned for 4 years ahead, and he is sure that then he will not be there. These are possibly the last few matches for Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid. So what do you think? Are we going to see the old Sachin once again on this tour? Will Sachin's fans see the Master Blaster perform brilliantly, or is he about to fade away?

Absolutely Sachin is finished. He is just like a flame which sometimes blow out very high and sometimes doesnt....consistency is not there. We want consistency like Ponting guys.......These buggers earn lot of money from cricket and dont give their 100% to the team. And we buggers die to watch their game even after abusing them when they lose........guys listen to me, Sachin Tendulkar is finished....He now only plays for money thats it.......
Sachin is victim of expectation. He is all time best player. He will perform well in coming matches. many people said that he is not match winner but he made14,000+ runs with 44+avg and 86+ str so with these figures he play major role in many matches which India won.
People have made him hero.......I agree he has done records in the past but we should not always keep on verifying the past records to lose our current matches....We should give new comers a chance if Sachin is not performing consistently.....The problem with our guys are any person has made some exceptional work in the past we just count that and move ahead saying he has done in the past so he is a senior player and we lose the chances of winning the present matches.....there should be simple formula.......perform or leave the team.......hard australian policy
problem ye hain ki... if we follow australian policy, who will remain in the team?
we dont have a single consistent player apart from dravid.. and even a dravid by australian standards .. will be thrown out of the team i think.
But i still wish to see Sachin play well once. Against Australia! Let him retire after a very good performance.. Actually nowadays I feel bad when i see Sachin play...
I think we all love sachin and cricket(iam not sure about if we like his performance nowdays). And thats why we hate him so much. If we didn't cared much, then we wouldn't bother and let him do whatever .. who cares.
But at the same time we are worried that he is taking advantage of our respect and love towards him and dragging his cricket career merely for money and advertisements, we are worried because we know he is like one of us only.
I disagree with kiran here. We are concerned about the victory for India and not the individual my friend. If we will play like australia in future we will like all the palyers in our team. Why I'm always say about australian team because they play like a war and thats what I like about that team.....They just play to win the match.....They know that formula only....Thats why they are world leaders now in cricket. We have that potential in us but we don believe in taking action so fast.......
we always want india team to win. But i also know guys who are happy and sad at the same time because india won and tendular wasn't impressive.
India team today takes more then tendulkar to beat somebody like australia.
My question is if Sachin is not performing consistently why to keep him in the team as a exceptional player because he has created some records in the past.......
No player performing consistently from aus. but they perform alternately so they win. They never give-up the match till last moment. so we have to change these things, no matter if there is sachin or not in the team. We drop him many times but in vain.
I just want to ask you guys just one question.
Name one player who can replace Sachin Tendulkar ????
Right now anyone can replace Sachin :) They are all equally bad... I wish this was not true, but kya kare... No one can replace him in reputation or history or records. But in actually batting, he is in bad shape. If we are talking about the old Sachin, yes no one can replace him in our minds.. he belongs in the same class as Bradman or Vivian Richards... But today I think anyone can replace him in skill or runs..
I do agree that Sachin is out of form. I blame Sachin for that BUT he is not performing and still in the team, is that his fault or the selectors???
Its true that SACHIN has become a brand and thats true not only about Sachin but to Indian team in Totality. Its a circus out there and we have become addict of watching it.
BCCI wants to make money....players want thier share.... The sponsors want thier brand to get the maximum exposure....The Media is making its share of money by thier daily dose of Breaking NEWS..
Truth is... a country like Australia is too far ahead of us in terms of cricketing abilities. We just have the money....and the players, who play ... to make it look like a contest. fact is ...its just not.
As far as sachin goes...its clear that he is not the same after playing 18 years of cricket. His reflexes have gone down. you can see that he is struggling to get runs. But even 50% of sachin is good enough than a lot of new people on the scene.
if the BCCI can find a player with the hunger & the technique better than sachin...they should replace him.
A player is not Bigger than the sport.
who was the highest scorer of yesterday's match :)
Hahah.. yes it was Sachin. And it was against South Africa, thats great too.
If he plays like this, then brilliant. If he gets an average of 50 in all matches against good teams, still brilliant.
But this I suspect is more like the last burning of the flame... Enjoy it when we see it, as there is always the chance that we may never see it again...
The question is, what about the next few games? Will all be 5, 10, duck, 20 - and average will still be 30 plus. What then?
Its good to see Sachins 99(143) but was it enough to win the match in the recent years. His half-century took 95 deliveries, slow even by Test standards these days. We want Match winning performances, from him and other players.
People have problem when Sachin goes on 0 ..people have problem when Sachin makes 99 .. people have problem when Sachin scores 150 and India still looses the match and say that he is not a match winner.. people have problems with his records...
Think about the other way .. What if there was no Sachin Tendulkar !! then would u guys be happy?
What we get from yesterdays match was there were only 2 players who were technically good enough to play in conditions suitable for bowling. 242 was not a bad score at all on that pitch. Where were the bowlers to defend it?
We are looking at a team sport and expect 1 man to win it for u always.
Please switch to wimbeldon...atleast u wud have only 1 person to blame for the loss
People are not blaming Sachin but his efforts are well enough to target the victory. Anyhow after 4 years Sachin Tendulkar will not be there. Definitely we will miss Sachin and at that time somebody else will be there and we will be blaming him. So our problem will continue from generation to generation.
Lets switch on not to wimbeldon but F1 race. Everybody knows that Lewis Hamilton and Massa are secondary drivers of their team but they are performing like Leaders. We need such performances.
hahaha , I totally agree with you dude :) . Anyways the "only" player in the cricket team who has always scored runs outside india is VVS Laxman .You guys must have seen him "raping" Australia in Australia when they were at their peak. So if you leave a player like VVS Laxman out, you have yourself to blame (that includes The Selectors + The Captain ) and to top it all off now Sharad Pawar(who has got nothing to do with cricket) has come to lead this mess and create more mess. So basically in 5 years time, we will have close "nail biting" finishes against teams like Ireland, Kenya and Bangladesh.
this time we cant blame the bowlers also, we bowled pretty much like they bowled too, right?
problem was that most of our batsmen got low scores...
sachin still has the spark, dravid still has consistency. Lekin sachin's spark is not helping, and dravid's consistency is not helping either.
People have problems with Sachin's spark also :(
Hey guys I'm back. I remember our college days to relate with the Cricketers performances. You might have also experienced it. What I used to do when I was in 1st year diploma I used to study just to pass. And it went for 1st, 2nd year and when there was a critical 3rd year I used to study a lot to get distinction. Same case with my degree course.....Its the same thing our cricketers doing for past many years. Sachin, Sehwag make runs just to be in team. When they get an idea that this is a do or die match we have to make atleast 50 runs......and once we give gr8 performance you are there in the team for next lets say 10 matches sure even if you are not crossing 10 runs.......its the whole scene guys.........
People we don't need Heros. We need match winners. Just go and get one World CUP Mr. Sachin Tendulkar with your batting performance like the mighty Jay suriya. Can you do that?
Spark is good pavwalabhai :) lekin apunko mangta hai FAYAAAARR!! :D
tereko FAYAAAARR mangta hai !!!!! nahi milega .. abhi key cricket mein FAYAAAARR = PAISA . Jag talak cricketers ko paisa mil raha hai tho FAYAAAARR ka jaryrath kyu hai ?? Indian Cricket ka kuch nahi ho saktha.
pawwala u r absolutely correct........indian cricket ka future aur present ekdam kharab hai........
Dravid has said -- expect more from Sachin. I hope he is right, that it is not just an optimistic statement... Maybe Sachin is finally back in form...
(and then the rest of the team will be out of form like always!)
Great personalities and champions always provoke joy, hate, pride, envy. We Indians are so desperate for winners aren't we... We often tend to go overboard in our pride for the successes of our Sachins and Amitabhs, unfortunately we also tend to go overboard in our hate for their failures :-) On a different note I wonder how Sachin must be feeling about playing in 4 world cups and not able to win a single one. Could he be envying Ricky Ponting who has 3 world cups under his belt. As if that was not enough Ricky looks like he is about set to beating Sachin's batting records too... And still he (Ricky) doesn't earn half as much as Sachin does. So is it that Ricky envies Sachin ;-) On a lighter note how about starting a new policy of fully open teams. We hire international coaches .... just extend it to hiring international players ;-) Lets have some "winner" aussies, srilankans, south africans in our team. We can call the team "International India"....
Good perspective to think from sachin's head. Iam wondering what sachin might be thinking about his fans.
The philosophy of the situation must not be lost on him .... he might have thought to himself - "First they made me a god i never said i was, now they are making me a devil who i am not" ;-)
Manishbhau your idea is under implementation by some of the officials at BCCI. Thats why we could njoy some matches some days between Asia XI Vs Africa XI........Isnt it??
Hmmm in a way... I was think more on pro-terms.... not just for exhibition tournaments... Consider how Kevin Peterson was rejected by SA and chose to play in England, Kepler Wessels changed from Australia to SA, How many player in the english team are only 2nd generation Englishmen.... How about attracting good foreign talent to play for India. say Brett Lee wishes to bowl for India... will it be a good idea... will we benefit ? But i guess it is too far-fetched and it doesnt sound "right".. we might like foreign goods... but i think almost all of us will want "our" players to be "shuddh" indians :-) ... i guess not even the BCCI politicos will like that. Still worth a thought (and maybe a discussion)
Decided to put sachin's story back on top after his amazing knock of 93 yesterday.
Yesterday's knock was 50% of sachin we knew 10 years ago. Its very nice to see him play like that. Dada unfortunately still struggling with his footwork
Am happy that "he" scored 93... Am even more happy that "India" won :-)
Yes i get some faint old memories of Sachin now.. :)
This tour proves that Sachin still has the fire- power to disrupt opponents. I am sure even 5 years from now (If he is playing) he will score more runs than the current youngsters who just want money through sponsers. So the more you try to pull Sachin down the more he performs so I request all the media, forums, people in marathikatta to take his case royally so that in return he can perform and keep adding to 15,000 runs .
JAI MAHARASHTRA!!!
yes, when sachin in the form everybody in the team play for win an only win, and we realized that yesterday though he not played big inning.... in final match..., sachin is moral support for the others when team needs it.....
