BY all indications, the selectors have started planning for life after the Big Three of Indian cricket.
Dropping Rahul Dravid is one of the biggest or perhaps the weirdest decisions in Indian selection history.
But the challenge within the challenge now is who will fill in the role of Dravid and be ‘The Wall’ of Indian cricket.
They are certainly some shoes to fill -you have to be the crisis player, rock solid with a copybook technique and unflappable temperament.

Dropping Rahul Dravid is not good decision. His overall performance is avg run in a match not from 0-180 but 30-60. he was known wall before 1 month. But selector feel his one series prformance is enough to drop him. Agreed!!!!!!!.
But he replaced by shewag who not scored in T-20 against aus not in chalenger.
There are other 2 choices we can support is Raina and Badrinath played well in domestic as well as in chalenger.

Badrinath's knock in challenger series was too good. Especially his innings against India Blues in the finals. He finished his 50 with 38 singles with 4 wickets down, i thought he was in the squad for series against pakistan.
Dravid's next assignment is in ranji, he is playing in karnataka vs mumbai ranjai .. guess who is leading karnataka ranji team .. good old kumble. :) .. this is perfect for me.

One interesting thing about our selectors is they don't know what they are doing. I noticed it many times.
Badrinath was selected for 7th match against Aus. He was not in final 11 and he is dropped for next series which criteria is for selection and dropping is used there.
If u notice our 11 keep changing but 4/15 remain same for many matches and finally they are dropped without play or only one match with avg performance.
Can anybody explain me the logic.

Badrinath as an extra didnt give the water properly to the players :-).What else can the reason be to dropp him from the squad of 15.Badrinath seems to be a good prospect. He also comes across as a decent off spin bowler, which could be handy in the middle overs. If there was ever a replacement for dravid, so that he can rest[according to vengsarkar],It had to be badrinath.
Rahul Dravid is too good a player to be ignored.i think the demons of handling captaincy and leaving it has caused some anxiety. He will definitely come back from this lean period in more determined way.To see how he does that...book your tickets to wankhede.

I don't understand why we are so shocked about this.
Rahul was always professional, I have loved his discipline and self control.
Considering his lack of performance in the last few matches, I think that if Rahul Dravid was a selector, he would have dropped himself!
This decision is logical, and Rahul probably supports it - at least the rational part of his brain supports it!
Now what is Rahul supposed to do? That logical part of his brain is telling him, play well, perform, and the selectors have no option but to bring him back.
So if he gets back in form, he will be back in the team. Simple! No selector, however big an asshole he is, has managed to stop a good player from coming back!
Teams are not formed on history and past achievements. If we respect past achievements too much, that means Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid cannot retire even if they are 50 years old!

Dravid is a smart man, and he will be back.
