One of Indian cricket’s most enduring friendships has developed cracks. Vinod Kambli blew the lid on his friendship with Sachin Tendulkar on a TV show that goes on air this week.
According to an insider at the show, Kambli said his childhood chum Tendulkar didn’t lend a helping hand during his downward spiral, which was also marked by self-destructive behaviour.
‘‘We are very close... we were very close. He could have done a little more, but he didn’t,’’ he said in reply to a query on his friendship with Tendulkar during a polygraph (lie detector) test which is part of the show.

Vinod kambli could not handle his success, the way sachin did.Infact vinod kambli raced into the scene with back to back double hundreds against england and zimbabwe.sachin got his double much later. What followed after that was for all to see.sachin remained grounded and continues to be so,while kambli got lost in the tentacles of stardom.They were treated as equals in the mumbai cricket circuit when they made the world record in the giles shield. Some experts believe kambli was more destructive than the master and could humiliate the best of the bowling attacks.I remember him taking 23 runs of shane warne in an over and that was some sight.
vinod is saying this in a reality show which obviously is looking for some cheap PR. If he truly has said what he has then he is frustrated at his own.
who helped Sachin. His performance was his mentor, not his caste or any godfather. Howmany chances were given to Kambli. because of his closeness to Sachin. Kambli knows truth just like Azruddin he want to make capital of his caste and failure
