See 1 thing is sure here.......we cant always blame govt. for promoting the slum area.......the people who stay there are fully responsible for all these dirty areas. If govt. allotts some plots or flats to these people, they give their flats or plots on rent, earn on that income and then build new "zopadpatti".....we should not fight for these zopadpatti walas because their attitude is not good. They even dont want to make nearby place clean and green...forget about dharavi and other zopadpattis.....

haha.. kiran is so logical. Govt is smart, they know the reality - that is, they can't give everyone houses, there will be corruption, some will be on the street... So they want to first do the sale, then proceed. The idea is first let us get them out, then let us build some houses.
The legal and illegal businesses will suffer. No idea who will finally get some place to live and do business..

May be govt should relocate this people first then take their homes from dharavi to start new construction. I don't know if this is really possible, its a risk for govt. :) .. But otherwise its a risk for dharavi families also ..
And yes, what would happen to all those legal and illegal business in dharavi ?

No one trusts the government to do it all properly because of the previous exp.of slum area development. New buildings are made but yet people are stuggling rehoused in one-room residences.

There are many bottlenecks in mumbai like Sakinaka.......now sakinaka is much more in a released mode as they have started Asalpha village road to Ghatkopar...There might be thousands of blocks in mumbai.....we should make a list of those blocks so that we can avoid going there. This means you should stay at home only........hahahahaha

I totally agree with jaydeep. Now all potholes are part of city's geography........I say this is true because many times we only tell others while giving direction to some places like....."Go left or right, and u'll find under construction road, or big potholes.....exactly opposite to that is my apartment......." hahahahaha

Monsoons hit Kerala today. Means that it will be in Mumbai in 10-15 days!
And so typically, just before the rains, the BMC will announce that all is fine, there are no potholes etc..
Then Mid Day will carry fotos of potholes.
Then BMC will try to fill them. And wont succeed.
Same old story.
This is only because the BMC knows that it will never lose Sena votes, and Congress-NCP knows that they are going to be okay for the next few years.
No one is afraid of people in anyway.
Sometimes I wonder, is there even one thing which has improved in Mumbai in the last 15 years?

mumbai mirror reported some days ago that total length if u consider all dug up streets is some 500 kms and rains are week from now may be 2 weeks.
Half of these must be delayed projects which state goverement wants to finished deperately and other half is for corporaters to making money before mansoon (manufactured projects).
And Yes, we are consistently shameless.

Statement might be anything but when it is against bihari we should always welcome it. Infact I dont support any political party but when it comes on marathi or in relation with it I'm always there to support. Time will come when all marathi will come together and say "Chale Jao Bihari"

All the idiot politicians were waiting for Enron and nothing else. In ten years, not one megawatt was added to Maharashtra's electricity generation. Nobody has done anything since 1990 I think to generate more power.

I dont understand why we are always dependant on some natural blessings like rain on us for power cur ptoblems?.......Last year it was really a good rain so that power would last for easily 1 year. We should control the illegal electricity connections, unnecessary lightings on special occasions like marriage, festivals at least in Load Shading days....But I noticed in villages people are in dark for so many days and in Mumbai people are lavishingly using the electricity. We should come forward and start utilizing the electricity wherever its actually and really needed.

In one of my comments I had stated that "We should focus on Mumbaikar Marathis". I apologise for this statement because we should not make ourselves constrained to only mumbaikar marathis. We marathi are spread across globe now so sorry for that statement.

i totally agree with you. I think you havent read my reply on the same to Kiran's statement. My point here is to we should start a new trend of referring our marathi people in good jobs. you are talking about Indians now. We should focus on Mumbaikar marathis who go to US. For my knowledge Marathis who are there in US they make marathi communities and njoy there. Meet each other, celebrate our traditional festivals and keep our tranditions alive being there.
When we talk about polititians they all are estate agents I say they are here to sell our country part by part for their own profits. They all should be shoot at sight. From last 5 years I'm not voting because nobody is good in politics. Any good person enters into politics turns to be the bad or rather ugly person. And like me many of my friends dont go to vote for all these criminals in politics. We all should come together and form some different form of Government.

And one more thing -- smart politicians/ ministers always make sure that govt ads will go to their own state newspapers. Ye accepted practice hain. If Pawar and Shivraj Patil are smart, all ads for Agriculture and all for Home should be coming in Mumbai and Maharashtra newspapers. If they are not doing that, kick their butts!
