The monitoring of the quality of air and noise levels that Mumbaikars live with is set to become more stringent. Mumbai nightlife won't be dented after what happened in mumbai last month. All famous and infamous party spots will be organizing huge parties for the new year eve. Papers incld. indian express reports this as a normalcy returning to the city. The Muslim Council on Sunday decided not to allow burial of the bodies of the nine terrorists killed during the Mumbai siege in the Marine Lines Bada Qabrastan.

Come 2011 and Mumbaikars will no longer need to store water. The BMC says it is awaiting the completion of the Middle Vaitarna dam project to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the city. The project will augment the city's water supply from the present 3,400 million litres daily to 3,800 million litres daily.
