दिवस तसे सुगीचे होते. ऊन मी म्हणत होतं, कडाक्याच्या उन्हामुळं अंगातून घामाच्या धारा वहात होत्या. रस्त्यावर एखादं चिटपाखरूही दिसत नव्हतं. उन्हाच्या झळा एकसारख्या मारत होत्या. शांत पाण्यात मुठभर खडे टाकल्यावर जशी अनंत वलयं दिसतात, तशी दुर-दुरच्या सा-या शिवारात उन्हाच्या झळांची वलयंच वलयं दिसत होती.
