Balaji Telefilms Ltd said on Monday SGL Entertainment Ltd, part of broadcaster Star group, has terminated sourcing and telecasting TV serial.'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' from Nov. 10.
The serial is produced by Balaji and the termination is in breach of contractual obligation owed by the Star group to Balaji, it said in a statement to the stock exchange.

Reliance ADAG's film production arm BIG Pictures has launched its first Marathi film Samaantar, which is co-directed by Amol Palekar and his wife Sandhya Gokhle. The film, which is currently under production, revolves around a man-woman relationship. It stars Palekar, Sharmila Tagore, Makrand Deshpande, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Kishore Kadam, Aishwarya Narkar and Radhika Apte.

To mark the second anniversary of the 7/11 train blasts, ‘Dombivli Fast’ director Nishikant Kamat is releasing his film ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ which is based on the tragedy. “The film is a salute to the spirit of mankind,” said Kamat. Starring Soha Ali Khan, Kay Kay Menon, Paresh Rawal, Irfan Khan and Madhavan, the film narrates how the incident shook the city by focusing on five main characters.

A new Bollywood film "Mumbai Meri Jaan" puts the spotlight on the serial bombings that rocked Mumbai's commuter train network in July 2006, exploring the broader human tragedy and its effect on the city's residents. As per Bombay Cinema regulation act and revived policy in 2001, a SINGLE SCREEN in mumbai should show a marathi film at least for four weeks in a year. But none of that is working until govt. issued orders against 79 multiplexes last year. And all of all us could see theaters with hoarding of marathi movies once in a while.
