After coming close to clinching the deal to buy the Bhatsa dam in Thane, the main source of water supply to Mumbai, at a cost of Rs 800 crore, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has backed out.

That’s because the engineering committee set up by the civic body to conduct the feasibility study of the dam, reported that it had developed huge burrows and cracks with several leaky spots. read more »
