Now inflation rate is nearly 13% a 14 yrs record high & its clear that the central and state government employee get 6th pay commission's pay scale.

But bmc employee getting dearness allowance same as they got in April 2000, 8 year back's.

The BMC's plan to construct a wax museum in the city, on the lines of London's Madame Tussauds, has been put on hold. The civic body realised only recently that the place they had earmarked for the museum falls under a green zone and, hence, cannot be developed. read more »

This applications are for clearance of BMC for the madap setup as per the BMC guidelines. The BMC has found a unique solution to control the foul odour emanating from its four major dumping sites in the city.

The civic body is proposing to take up repairing work of five railway overbridges on Central and Harbour lines which are in dilapidated condition.

Although this would sound like a repair work for railway overbridge, it will solve one major difficulties of repairing the pipelines going under these bridges.

We cannot expect the BMC to handle a population of 18 million. With a density of 23 people per sq ft there are bound to be hygiene and cleanliness issues. However, it is a pleasant surprise to see that the citizens of Mumbai are making an effort to keep the city clean. This can be seen on the city roads where people abstain from throwing things outside their car windows. read more »

NMMC started this Rs. 111 crore project in 2006, due to increasing number of accidents on the road from airoli to turbhe. But then road already started showing up the cracks and NMMC officers are on the defensive mode. This sounds like regular BMC story. read more »
