As per Bombay Cinema regulation act and revived policy in 2001, a SINGLE SCREEN in mumbai should show a marathi film at least for four weeks in a year. But none of that is working until govt. issued orders against 79 multiplexes last year. And all of all us could see theaters with hoarding of marathi movies once in a while.

Mumbai Police on Monday suspended the licenses of 35 cinema halls of the city for not adhering to the Maharashtra government's order for mandatory screening of Marathi movies for minimum of four weeks a year.

To cash-in on the growing taste for select Marathi films, Mumbai's exhibition theatre chain Cinemax will screen six popular Marathi films from October 5 to October 10 at three of its theatres in Mumbai and Nasik.
