Harikishan Gupta, a 72-year-old retired officer of the Air India, envied government officials who escape heavy tolls on highways. On December 17, he filed a PIL in the Bombay High Court against the state government, MSRDC and toll contractors for uniform toll collection and one-way toll.

The Indian Army has objected to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's new garbage collection trucks that have been painted olive, making them look deceptively similar to the vehicles used by the city's defence establishments.
