State Assembly saved the Open Spaces in mumbai from deadly CareTaker policy. Open spaces will continue to be monitored by adoption policy. Yesterday Civic Improvement Committee led by shiv sena proposed the revision in the policy for development of open spaces in mumbai. As per the revision open land will be given to private developers and corporates as a caretaker and in addition (to be read as “in return”) 25% of the land will be allotted to them for building swimming pools, health clubs, restaurants and other ancillaries. The revision in land development policy will allow private bodies and corporates to procure the plots on caretaker basis and build amenities like club house, gymkhanas, swimming pools and other ancillaries in 25 per cent of the open space. Citispace, a non-governmental organisation, said on Thursday that the number of open spaces are decreasing in the city day by day, and that the civic body is developing all the remaining open spaces in the city.
