Central Railway says MMRDA to blame, Rs 166-cr project for additional lines between Kurla and Thane delayed over removal of 11 toilet blocks
The World Bank mission that is currently in the city to review the bank-funded Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) is said to be unhappy with the progress on the laying of additional lines between Kurla and Thane, a senior government official said.

The civic body is proposing to take up repairing work of five railway overbridges on Central and Harbour lines which are in dilapidated condition.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Mumbai have said that the railways should issue yearly photo identity passes to commuters who do not possess a railway pass and buy local tickets on a daily basis.
This, according to the GRP, “will help track terrorists and also families of unclaimed bodies”.

Almost two months after introducing the new suburban train, the railways have finally decided to get feedback from commuters so that changes could be made.
The regular commercial production of the trains is slated to begin at the railways' Chennai factory only from April, allowing for changes to be incorporated till then.
