Western Railway’s ambitious project to build a terminus for long-distance trains at Dadar has run into a 117-year-old obstacle. The project was conceived in 2007 and work began the same year, but authorities have now realised that trains cannot be terminated on platform number 6, as it can’t be connected to shunting yards because of a temple at the southern end.
