Five persons were killed and 14 injured when an under-repair single-storeyed building collapsed in Borivali today after one of the supporting structures gave way.
The building, occupied by labourers was located in the Shimpoli area of Borivali and was abandoned by most residents due to its dilapidated condition, the police said.

Indian Railways has a “gift” for Mumbai’s harrowed commuters this new year.
It will be installing and operationalising 350 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) for the city’s western and central railway lines on January 1.
What sweetens the deal is the fact that the gift comes free of cost to the Railways.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has proposed six multi-storeyed car-parking towers in the Zaveri Bazaar-Mumbadevi belt, one of the city's busiest commercial districts.
