Heavy rains continued to lash the city and the suburbs on Monday, affecting road, rail and air traffic. The weather bureau, meanwhile, has predicted intermittent rainfall with possibility of few heavy showers during the day.

In a move to discourage people from bringing private vehicles to the business district, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is all set to increase parking charges after 16 years by four times. Next on the agenda: parking on streets will be banned and off-street parking will soon be introduced.

The live university of acting – Chandrakant Gokhale – as he was recognized by the veterans of Indian theatre, died due to old age in Pune on June 20, 2008. He was 87 years old. He was suffering from cancer. He is survived by his actor son – Vikram Gokhale.

After coming close to clinching the deal to buy the Bhatsa dam in Thane, the main source of water supply to Mumbai, at a cost of Rs 800 crore, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has backed out.

Kumar Ketkar was assulted by Rashtrwadi's Ranaveer group called Shivsangram leaded by some (!)Vinayak Mete in last week on 5th of june 2008.this news should appear in this site. The freedom of expression is in danger in marathi world in maharashtra itself. Ketkar had written an agralekh titled ' Avatarali Shivashahi ' criticising the state govt.
